While the housing market is inundated with properties on the market for sale with few buyers out there, the lodging market is just the opposite, many buyers looking for property to purchase, but few properties for sale that actually make financial sense to a buyer or lender. Even if a buyer finds a “turn around” of interest to them and they know that they can do a better job with a property than the current ownership is doing, the lenders are apprehensive about making loans on anything other than blue chip, franchise properties with good solid cash flows.
